Minister says World Cup slalom on Sljeme interesting tourist-wise

ZAGREB, 6.1.2013.

Croatian Tourism Minister Veljko Ostojic on Sunday said that World Cup slaloms on Mount Sljeme were unforgettable sporting events both for spectators on the slope and for the TV audience.

After today's sixth edition of the World Cup men's slalom on Sljeme overlooking the Croatian capital, Minister Ostojic, who attended the event, told reporters that this was an interesting event tourist-wise, and he highlighted the fact that the race was live broadcast in over a score of countries.

He also spoke about tourism as a medium for placement of domestic products. In this context he said that 90% of beverages spent in the Croatian tourist sector were drinks made in Croatia and that the share of Croatia's food in the food consumption in the country's tourism was about 70%. He said that there was room for raising this percentage. (Hina)
