ZAGREB, 21.9.2008.

The northern Adriatic resort of Rovinj has won this year's Blue Flower Award as the best looking and best organised coastal town in Croatia, while the Green Flower Award will go to Cakovec, in the northwest of the country, as the best looking and best organised continental town.

Rovinj and Cakovec were chosen among a number of towns and municipalities along the Adriatic coast and in continental Croatia by the National Tourism Board in cooperation with several media organisations which rated their appearance, services and organisation.

Rovinj was followed by Split and Rab, while Cakovec was followed by Karlovac and by Osijek and Sisak which shared third place.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony as part of Croatian Tourism Days, due to take place in Opatija on 22-24 October. (Hina)
