Tourism minister expects positive results for first eight months

Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs on Wednesday said he was confident figures for the first eight months of 2010 would be positive for the tourist trade, announcing that next week his ministry would publish data on arrivals and overnight stays for the first eight months. Bajs expects a five-percent rise in tourist arrivals and a three-percent rise in overnight stays. There are also good indicators for September and October, according to bookings, he said after a ceremony of signing agreements on grants which the tourism ministry gave to organisations and no-profit associations in the tourist sector. Today, the minister and representatives of 40 associations signed agreements on non-repayable grants, whose total amount is HRK 4 million, for preparations for the next season. More...
