Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts holds health tourism congress

ZAGREB, 4.7.2017.

The Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU) on Tuesday organised the first congress on medical tourism, taking into account that health tourism has been added to the strategic goals for the development of tourism and public healthcare.

Participants in the Zagreb event called for creating legal frameworks for the further development of health-oriented tourism.

They also called for preparing Croatia for opening its tourism market to nearly 500 million foreign guests who seek healthcare services. ranging from preventive and health-conducive treatment to rehabilitational and curative forms of travel outside their native countries.

HAZU President Zvonimir Kusic said that apart from market-oriented development, medical tourism should also be made available to all Croatian citizens as a civilisation achievement. (Hina)
