ZAGREB, 15.10.2013.

In the first nine months of this year there were 32,870 newly employed in tourism which is a growth of 18.2% in comparison to the same period last year, the Tourism Ministry reported on Tuesday referring to the latest data released by the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ).

According HZZ data, the number of newly employed in tourism represents 20.5% of all newly employed in that period.

Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin said that this was a good indicator particularly in consideration of the numbers for September which can be now considered as a constituent part of the peak season and no longer off-peak.

He announced that during the coming Croatian Tourism Days - 2013 to be held in Zadar, October 24 & 25, schools with the best education programmes directed toward tourism would be awarded as part of the "2013 vocation promotion" event. (Hina)
